House De Arch was founded with a single conviction: that Bangladesh deserves interior design and architecture of global quality, delivered with the local knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and practical expertise that only a genuinely Bangladeshi practice can provide. Eighteen years later, that conviction has produced a portfolio of more than 100 completed projects spanning corporate offices, luxury residences, restaurants, retail environments, and hospitality spaces — and a reputation as one of Bangladesh’s most trusted and capable design and build practices.

Our Story
House De Arch was established in Dhaka by a team of architects and interior designers who had trained and worked internationally before returning to Bangladesh with a clear mission: to bring international design standards to a market that deserved them, while building a practice that was genuinely rooted in the country it served. The early years were defined by a commitment to quality that was not yet standard in Bangladesh’s design market — detailed drawings, quality material specifications, rigorous construction supervision — and a client base that quickly understood and valued what that commitment delivered.
Over eighteen years, the practice has grown into an integrated design and build firm with a full team of architects, interior designers, project managers, and site supervisors — delivering projects from initial concept through to construction handover under a single integrated contract. The EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) model that defines our approach was developed through years of experience with the problems that arise when design and construction are separated — and the solutions that integration provides.
Our Portfolio
Corporate and Commercial
Our commercial portfolio includes some of Bangladesh’s most demanding and prestigious corporate fit-outs. Medtronic — one of the world’s largest medical device companies — chose House De Arch to deliver their Dhaka office to global corporate standards. BayerCropScience — the agricultural science division of one of the world’s largest chemical companies — commissioned us for a complete office design that combined international brand compliance with local execution excellence. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society — one of the country’s most important humanitarian organisations — trusted us with the complete fit-out of their Dhaka headquarters. Each of these projects required not just design skill but the procurement capability, construction management, and documentation discipline that global organisations demand.
Restaurant and Hospitality
The Holy Crab — one of Dhaka’s most celebrated and photographed restaurant interiors — is a House De Arch project. The industrial-coastal design, with its wave-form ceiling, living plant wall, Edison pendant installations, and dramatic red brand mural, has been shared thousands of times on social media and contributed directly to the restaurant’s success as a destination as well as a dining experience. The BYD electric vehicle showroom — a two-storey futuristic retail environment with LED video wall, curved reception desk, and illuminated glass facade — demonstrates our capability in technology-integrated commercial retail design.
Residential
Our residential portfolio spans the full range of the Bangladesh market — from compact apartment renovations in Dhanmondi to luxury homes in Gulshan and Banani. PKP Cottage — a waterside luxury retreat combining biophilic architecture, natural stone bathrooms, and a cantilevered timber deck with integrated plunge pool — represents our residential design at its most ambitious and personal. Every residential project we undertake is designed around the specific lives of the people who will inhabit it — their habits, their values, their aesthetic preferences, and their long-term plans for the space.
Our Design Philosophy
House De Arch’s design philosophy can be summarised in three principles that guide every project, regardless of scale or budget:
- Function first: A space that looks extraordinary but does not work well for the people in it has failed its most fundamental brief. We begin every project by understanding how the space will actually be used — and design to serve that use with precision before addressing aesthetics.
- Materials honestly: We specify materials for their genuine qualities — performance in Bangladesh’s climate, durability under the specific demands of the project, and the authentic character that comes from honest material use. We do not specify synthetic imitations of natural materials when the natural material itself is available and appropriate.
- Designed for the long term: The most important measure of a design’s quality is not how it looks in a photograph on the day of handover, but how well it serves the people who use it every day for the next decade. We design for durability, maintainability, and the kind of timeless quality that does not require updating every few years.
Our Integrated Delivery Model
What distinguishes House De Arch from most Bangladeshi design practices is the integration of design, procurement, and construction under one team and one contract. Our EPC model eliminates the coordination problems, accountability gaps, and cost surprises that arise when these functions are separated — producing better outcomes for clients at comparable or lower total cost than the conventional separated approach. Every project we deliver comes with complete documentation, warranty support, and post-occupancy follow-up — because we believe our responsibility to a project extends beyond the handover date.
Looking Forward
Bangladesh is at an extraordinary moment in its design history. Rising prosperity, global connectivity, a design-literate generation of clients, and an explosion in premium construction are together creating a market where design quality has never mattered more — or been more valued. House De Arch is committed to being the practice that sets and raises the standard for what Bangladeshi interior design can achieve — not by importing global aesthetic templates, but by developing a design culture that is genuinely, proudly, and excellently Bangladeshi.
