Medtronic, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies, required a complete redesign of their Dhaka office to reflect the company’s global standards while creating a productive, inspiring workspace for their Bangladesh team. The Challenge

Medtronic’s Dhaka office needed to serve multiple functions simultaneously: a professional client-facing environment communicating global credibility, a productive workspace for a growing local team, and a space that complied with Medtronic’s international brand and workplace standards.

The existing space was dated, inefficient, and failing to reflect the company’s premium market positioning. Critically, the renovation had to be completed within a compressed timeline to minimise disruption to business operations.

Our Approach

House De Arch was appointed under an EPC contract, giving Medtronic a single point of accountability for the entire project. Our integrated team simultaneously developed the design while procuring long-lead items, significantly compressing the overall programme.

Key design decisions included an open-plan collaborative workspace anchored by a striking branded reception suite, a client presentation room equipped with state-of-the-art AV, and a staff wellness area acknowledging Medtronic’s culture of employee care.

Design Highlights

  • Reception and brand wall: A signature reception featuring Medtronic’s corporate blue in premium materials — communicating global brand standards from the moment visitors arrive
  • Collaborative workspace: Activity-based working with dedicated focus zones, collaboration benches, and informal meeting nooks for the full team
  • Executive meeting suite: Fully equipped boardroom with integrated AV, acoustically treated walls, and premium furnishing for leadership and client meetings
  • Staff pantry and lounge: A well-designed break space reflecting Medtronic’s investment in employee wellbeing
  • Environmental graphics: Custom graphics throughout reinforcing Medtronic’s mission of alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life

The Outcome

The completed Medtronic Dhaka office delivered a premium, functional workspace that met global standards while being perfectly tailored to the Bangladesh context. The project was delivered on schedule and within the agreed EPC contract sum — a result that speaks directly to the efficiency of the integrated delivery model.

The new office has become a benchmark for Medtronic’s regional operations, with the design approach being referenced for future offices across the region.

What This Project Demonstrates

Working with a global corporation like Medtronic reinforced the value of clear communication, disciplined project management, and the ability to meet exacting international standards while operating in a Bangladeshi context. It also demonstrates that Bangladesh’s design and construction sector — when properly managed — can deliver world-class results.

“House De Arch’s integrated approach gave us exactly what we needed — quality results, professional project management, and a team that understood our global standards. We are proud to welcome clients and colleagues into our new Dhaka office.”
